Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Gets New Features

Microsoft has opened up its new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate feature, which it has been testing for a long time, to all users. Ultimate subscribers will now be able to play some of their own games on their consoles via the cloud, rather than just the games in their Game Pass library. This innovation is just one of the many updates coming to the Xbox platform in April.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Cloud Play Support Arrives

With the new feature, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One owners will be able to play supported games via the cloud without having to download them to the console. The feature was first announced in 2019, but due to delays, it could only be used on limited devices. Now, consoles have been added to the list of supported platforms.

There are currently “over 100” games compatible with the feature. New releases like Lost Records: Bloom and Rage Tape 2, Wanderstop, and Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed are also on the list. Players can use the feature by selecting games with a cloud icon from the “My Games & Apps > All Library > Owned Games” section on their consoles and using the “Cloud Play” option.

The April update isn’t just limited to streaming. The “Free up space” screen now more clearly shows multiple copies of the same game or games that have expired. New Xbox-specific game centers have also been added to the user interface.

On the other hand, remote play support has now been removed from the Xbox mobile app. The feature will now be available via the mobile browser. Microsoft said this change will make it easier to bring support to more devices and improve the user experience. Samsung Smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV devices, and Meta Quest headsets will also be getting remote play support soon.

Finally, new features are also coming to the Xbox app on iOS and Android. Players will soon be able to purchase games and content, start a Game Pass subscription, and redeem Perks directly through the app. These innovations will be available to beta users first, then to all users.
