Xbox Release Date Announced for Among Ashes

Dojo System and Rat Cliff Games have officially announced that the Xbox Series version of the metafictional horror game Among Ashes will be released on June 6. The game, which was previously released on PlayStation 5 and Steam on December 9, 2024, is now bringing the horror experience to a new platform by meeting Xbox users. It was announced that preparations are underway for the physical PS5 version of the game.

Among Ashes Brings Fear to Xbox

Among Ashes is not just a game; it offers a unique experience that contains another horror game within itself. In the story set in the early 2000s, players download a retro horror game called “Night Call” with a mysterious connection from their friends. However, as the game is played, strange events begin to occur in the real world. The peace at home gives way to the tension created by the dark entities that have infiltrated the game.

The game is based on the concept of “game within a game” with both its narrative and gameplay. While players explore the Stoker mansion in the Night Call universe, they also have to deal with the threats posed by this horror game in real life. While fighting monsters in labyrinthine corridors, puzzles waiting to be solved are at the center of the story.

The production reinforces the feeling of nostalgia with retro graphics and sound design in line with the period atmosphere. Players both pay tribute to old-time horror games and feel today’s tension with modern narrative techniques. Rat Cliff Games states that they push the boundaries of the genre with this metafictional structure.

With its Xbox release, Among Ashes aims to reach a wider player base. Launched with the slogan “No matter what happens… KEEP PLAYING.”, the production invites Xbox Series users to this dark adventure as of June 6.
