Yakuza Series is Coming as a TV Series
Yakuza series, one of Sega’s popular game brands, will be broadcast as a series. Today, the game industry and the TV series and movie industry are intertwined. We have seen the biggest examples of this in brands such as Cyberpunk, Halo and Fallout, which was released in recent months and received great acclaim.
Yakuza Series Coming to Prime Video on October 24
The fact that the industry is moving in this direction shows us that the gaming industry is now at least as advanced as the movie industry. As such, many companies are trying to adapt their popular brands into TV series or movies. In this way, both the popularity in the gaming industry is increasing and the brand is also moving into the movie industry. One of the brands that wanted to keep up with this situation was Sega. The company brought Sonic, one of its big brands, to the movie industry. Now they are trying to bring Yakuza, one of their own popular series.
Sega has announced that the Yakuza series will be released as a series. According to this announcement, the series will air on Prime Video. The release date of the series will be October 24th. Ryoma Takeuchi will portray Kazuma Kiryu, the famous lead of the series, in this series. The series will consist of 6 episodes.
Take Masaharu and Takimoto Kenga will sit in the director’s chair. The first three episodes of the production will be broadcast on October 25 and the remaining three episodes will be broadcast on November 1. The story of the series will cover the years 1995 and 2005. Accordingly, we can say that the series will adopt Yakuza 1, the game set in the same time period, as the story.
