He recently shared a photo from a test shoot featuring Ben Affleck donning the Batman costume for the first time. “It was exactly how I imagined it,” Snyder wrote in his post.

While the likelihood of Snyder returning to the director’s chair in James Gunn’s new DCU era seems slim, DC Studios’ Elseworlds projects still open the door to new stories. In an interview last year, Snyder didn’t completely rule out the possibility, saying, “As long as the characters are treated mythologically correctly, I’m in.”
Gunn responded to Snyder’s comments on Threads, saying, “I know, he already messaged me. He’s been very supportive throughout the process.” Affleck, in a recent interview, offered a different perspective on his role as Batman, saying, “I loved playing an old, tired Bruce Wayne. But my son was too scared to watch the movie, and that’s when I realized something had to change.”
While Snyder’s return to DC remains uncertain, these posts serve as a nod to the old DCEU era and a reminder that Ben Affleck’s Batman still holds a special place in fans’ hearts.
