9 New Modes Are Being Developed for Battlefield 6
While Battlefield 6 has just completed its first season, significant clues about the game’s future have emerged. Analysis of the production files revealed that the development team is working on nine different game modes. Some of these modes are in active testing, while others are in early development. It appears Battlefield 6 plans to keep players glued to their screens with long-term content support after launch.
Battlefield 6 Expands with New Game Modes
The Battlefield 6 files initially revealed the development of modes such as Sabotage, Strikepoint, Raid, Payload, Squad Shootout, and Tank Hunt. Recent updates have added five more prototype modes: Convoy, Fantastic Four, Gunmaster, Touchdown, and Tug of War. While not fully confirmed, these modes are expected to be included in the game in the future.
One of the most notable new modes is Gunmaster. Following the classic “Gun Game” logic, this mode sees players switch weapons with each kill, and the winner is the one who delivers the final stab with a knife. A nod to the series’ history, this mode will pave the way for the return of fast-paced matches.
Another ambitious mode, Tug of War, features a Breakthrough-style, flag-capture-based structure. Teams take turns capturing points and trying to maintain control of the map. Each captured flag opens a new line, while the enemy team’s counterattacks can momentarily shift the balance. This adds an intense tactical momentum to the game.
This new content is expected to be added regularly during Battlefield 6’s post-launch phase. DICE’s plan is to transform the game into an ever-expanding platform, not just an online combat experience. Classic-style modes like Raid and Gunmaster, in particular, have already generated significant interest among players.
The first additional modes are expected to be official with the new season of Battlefield 6. The development team aims to offer players both innovation and nostalgia by blending the series’ classic atmosphere with modern gameplay. If this momentum is maintained, Battlefield 6 could once again become one of the series’ strongest entries in the future.
