Furi Demake is free to claim on Steam until June 23. Furi Demake is an 8-bit style “demake” of the shoot ’em up game Furi, recreating the game’s first boss fight with a striking retro art style. Furi Demake launched in 2023 but has largely flown under the radar, which has prompted developer/publisher The Game Bakers to make it free for a limited time. This will let the developers “measure how much interest” there is in Furi Demake. The Game Bakers want to recreate more Furi bosses in Furi Demake, so there is potential for future updates. Anyone that claims Furi Demake by June 23 will be able to keep it for forever without paying.
A free giveaway like this could be a great way to get more people playing Furi Demake. By giving away the game for free, Furi Demake’s playerbase will inevitably grow, and in turn, there may be more people willing to check out any future updates or DLC that might be released for the game.
