According to a user named BunnyTheVillain, who is alleged to be affiliated with Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Hexe will have a dark and gloomy atmosphere. At the center of the story is a character named Elsa, and Elsa embarks on a dangerous journey to avenge her mother, who was executed for allegedly being a witch. This narrative resembles a classic revenge story that we are accustomed to from previous games in the series.

A leak made by Insider Gaming last year also supported these claims. It was stated that Elsa would have supernatural powers and that these powers were connected to the witch trials that led to her mother’s death. This led to comments that the game could add a different dimension to traditional Assassin’s Creed mechanics in its gameplay. However, it also brought about concerns about the originality of the story.

Comments made on social media criticize Ubisoft’s once again turning to a revenge-themed scenario. Reddit users in particular expressed sarcastically that the series could not break away from the “character whose family was killed” cliché. Players believe that the classic progression cycle of enemies being targeted in turn and clues will repeat itself.

In light of all these leaks, although there is no clear information about the release date of Assassin’s Creed Hexe, the game is not expected to be released before 2027. While it has been rumored that Ubisoft will announce a Black Flag remake, how much innovation Hexe will bring to the series with its dark theme has already become a matter of debate.
