Assassin’s Creed Shadows Switch 2 Version Revealed

Assassin’s Creed Shadows, one of Ubisoft’s most critically acclaimed games of the year, is apparently coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. In July, the game’s PEGI age rating was leaked, and Ubisoft confirmed it would be coming to “other systems.” Now, a listing on a French retailer has seemingly revealed the Switch 2 version of the game.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Listed

A product page for Assassin’s Creed Shadows has appeared on the French online store Auchan. The page features both a temporary cover art and a product description similar to the official announcement. This page, likely uploaded early, confirms that a Switch 2 version of the game is planned.

The listing’s description, “Experience Assassin’s Creed Shadows in a whole new way with Nintendo Switch 2!” is noteworthy. The promotional text emphasizes the game’s deep stealth mechanics, light-and-shadow-based gameplay, and visceral combat system. Players will be able to experience two completely different gameplay styles by switching between the two main characters: silent assassinations with Shinobi Naoe and direct, powerful combat with Samurai Yasuke.

This listing is reminiscent of Ubisoft’s strategy for Star Wars: Outlaws. The game launched as a Switch 2 exclusive on September 4, 2025. Given its tendency to release quickly after receiving a PEGI rating, a Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows may be announced within the next few months.

When Assassin’s Creed Shadows launched in March 2025, it was widely praised for its cinematic atmosphere, Feudal Japan design, and detailed gameplay. Now, it is thought that Ubisoft is aiming to create the same effect on the next-generation portable console by carrying this success to the Switch 2.
