Avowed Denies Delay Claims

Obsidian Entertainment has once again confirmed the release date for its highly anticipated RPG Avowed. The company announced that the game will be released on Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms on February 18, 2025. However, the fact that the game’s Steam community page was briefly taken down recently caused rumors of a delay among some users. These rumors were further fueled by the changes to the community page and the removal of the early access date from SteamDB.

Changes to the Avowed Steam Community Page

Avowed’s Steam community page was down for a day, causing confusion among users. With the page back up, Obsidian has made a statement confirming once again that the game will be released on its scheduled date. However, with the return of the community page, toxic and offensive comments have once again increased on the page. This is thought to be due to the game being the target of online hate campaigns. Avowed, in particular, has become the focus of online discussions due to its different character representations.

Obsidian has clearly denied the delay claims that emerged after some information about the game’s early access process was removed and changes were made to its community page. The company stated that the game’s development process is progressing as planned and will be released on the specified date. It was also stated that the changes made to the game’s community page on Steam are only due to technical adjustments.

Set in Obsidian’s award-winning Pillars of Eternity universe, Avowed offers players a first-person RPG experience set on a magical island called the Living Lands. As an emissary from Aedyr, players will investigate a deadly outbreak on the island and make decisions that affect both their own fate and the future of the island.

Expected to offer a grand adventure, Avowed aims to meet the expectations of gamers with its deep story and rich world. Avowed will be released for Xbox Series X/S and PC on February 18. The game’s early access will begin on February 13.
