Big Xbox Games Coming to PS5
In the coming days, Microsoft will host the big Xbox Showcase event, where it aims to distract from the negativity surrounding the brand after it shut down Tango Gameworks and Arkane Austin earlier this year. While this event will be important for those invested in the Xbox ecosystem, PlayStation fans will also need to watch closely.
Project Latitude: Xbox Games Coming to PS5
It wouldn’t be surprising if Microsoft announces any games for the PS5 at its press conference, as it has revealed that many games will be coming to the PS5 under an internal initiative codenamed “Project Latitude”. While these conversions will take some time to materialize, it’s safe to say that first-party software will eventually make the jump to Sony’s system. As The Verge reports, while Fable and a new Gears of War game are not currently under consideration, Halo: Combat Evolved remake, Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, Age of Mythology: Retold, Starfield, a new DOOM game and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 are among the games being considered for the PS5.
Microsoft said that it has always taken a wait-and-see approach to future ports, and that it has been keeping a close eye on the success of Sea of Thieves in particular. That game has topped the sales charts since its release on the PS5.
Additional speculation suggests that these aren’t the only games in development for the PS5, with the likes of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and even Forza Horizon eventually making their way to PlayStation.
