Black Flag Remake Considered More Than Just Graphics
Ubisoft is reportedly working on a remake for its iconic pirate-themed game Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. The original game, which was released in 2013, is being remade using the next-generation Anvil game engine. However, leaked information suggests that this project is not limited to improving the graphics alone. It is stated that new combat and wildlife systems will be added, and the aim is to reborn the game in line with modern AAA standards.
New Systems in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Remake
One of the main innovations of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Remake will be a complete overhaul of the combat mechanics and wildlife systems. Although details are still unclear, Ubisoft is said to be aiming to make the piracy theme of the original game deeper with these changes. According to a leaked LinkedIn profile, this remake aims to offer players a more dynamic experience.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot had mentioned remakes of old Assassin’s Creed games and said that players could be excited about these projects. However, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Remake has not been officially announced yet. Therefore, we will have to wait for Ubisoft’s announcements regarding Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which will be released in March 2025, to get more information about the game’s development process.
According to inside information, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Remake was planned to be released in November 2025. However, the second delay of the Shadows game affected Ubisoft’s roadmap. Therefore, it is thought that Black Flag Remake may be postponed to 2026.
It is clear that Ubisoft aims to present the piracy theme of the original game to a new generation of players with this project while also satisfying old fans. Although no official announcement has been made, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Remake is already eagerly awaited by fans.
