Borderlands 4 Is Worth Its Price

As the prices of new-generation games are rapidly increasing, Borderlands 4 has become a part of the agenda as well. Gearbox Software founder Randy Pitchford responded to criticisms of the game’s pricing policy with a sincere statement. Pitchford stated that he had tried to scrape together money to buy games while working minimum wage in the past, and that gamers understood this situation well. However, he emphasized that the real important point is not the label, but the value offered.

Will Borderlands 4 Really Offer Value for Money?

Pitchford touched on the discussions about the price of the new game, and stated that such discussions are experienced in the most popular games. According to him, no matter what the price is, Borderlands 4 will more than prove its value to gamers with the content it offers. While it was announced that the standard version will be $69.99, the Deluxe and Super Deluxe versions will reflect the price difference with additional content.

The most striking detail is that Borderlands 4 will not rely on a live service model or intensive microtransactions. Pitchford emphasized that the new game will be a fully-fledged, one-time premium game. It was stated that although additional content will be offered in the future, the main package promises a complete experience on its own.

For those who find the game’s price high, Pitchford gave the example of other big games with similar price tags and said, “Even an $80 Mario Kart World makes you feel its value.” Stating that he is sure that Borderlands 4 will meet expectations in the same way, Pitchford spoke assertively by saying, “Everyone will get much more than they paid.”

Borderlands 4, which will be released on September 12 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, aims to offer a strong experience for fans of the series in terms of both price and content. The countdown has begun to see whether the game will prove its value as Pitchford said.
