Fraser Was the Strongest Choice for Superman
While many actors were being considered for the role of Superman in the then-developing Superman: Flyby project, Brendan Fraser emerged as one of the strongest candidates. Having delivered a darkly antagonistic performance as Firefly, the actor approached the project with the confidence of his experience. However, with the film’s cancellation, this return ended even more tragically than it had been for Superman.
