BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH Announced
Shochiku and Serafini Productions have officially announced DON’T WATCH, the newest game in the BrokenLore series. Drawing attention with its psychological thriller elements, the production invites players to witness the mental collapse of a young man trapped in a small apartment in Tokyo. The game, which will be released first on April 25 with the PC version, will also be released for PlayStation 5 in 2025.
A Mental Tension-Filled Journey with BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH
BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH is a psychological horror game played from a first-person perspective. Players witness the mental collapse of young Shinji, who lives the life of a hikikomori, step by step. Shinji, who lives an isolated life in his small apartment in Tokyo, struggles with bills and family pressure on the one hand, while trying to cope with his anxieties on the other. Even his only escape, video games, no longer provide peace.
One of the most disturbing aspects of the game is the supernatural being Hyakume. This evil figure with a hundred eyes watches Shinji’s every moment and waits for his weak moment. As players wander through Shinji’s mind, they will feel the boundaries between reality and illusion become increasingly blurred. The atmosphere of the game constantly reminds us that you are not safe in both the physical and digital worlds.
Although the computer seems to be Shinji’s only connection to the outside world, the game masterfully subverts this sense of trust. Developer Serafini Productions deepens the complex narrative in the BrokenLore series in this game, emphasizing that fear can come not only from monsters but also from within the mind.
DON’T WATCH aims to offer a psychological feeling of discomfort to horror fans beyond classic jumpscares. The first version of the game will be released on Steam on April 25. Console players will be able to join this dark journey with the PlayStation 5 version in 2025.
