Call of Duty Fans Shocked by the Price of TMNT Content
Call of Duty added Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) themed content with the Season 2 Reloaded update released for Warzone and Black Ops 6. However, the high prices of the content have caused backlash among players. Each TMNT character must be paid separately, and those who want to own four turtles must spend a total of $80. There is also an additional $10 fee for a special battle pass content.
Details of Call of Duty TMNT Content
When Activision announced the prices of the new TMNT themed content, it was revealed that players will have to purchase each character separately. Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael are each sold for 2,400 COD points. The total cost of these points is equivalent to $80 in real money. In addition, a premium battle pass must be purchased for the new Splinter costume and other cosmetic items, bringing the total cost to $90.
The cost of owning TMNT content exceeds the price of a full game of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This situation has been criticized, especially since TMNT characters are offered at more affordable prices in Fortnite. Fortnite offered TMNT characters together for $32 in December 2023.
Call of Duty’s pricing for TMNT content has caused mixed reactions among players. Although each character costume comes with finishing moves and some additional items, these prices are considered excessive. Players argue that Activision’s high price is based on the trust that TMNT fans will definitely buy this content.
This update continues to cause controversy in the Call of Duty community. While players are demanding that the content be offered at more affordable prices, it is wondered whether Activision will back down on this issue.
