Crimson Desert Controls are “like riding a bicycle.”

Crimson Desert continues to be talked about as its release approaches, but this time the focus isn’t on graphics or world design. One of the biggest concerns for players is the gameplay itself, especially the controls. Initial impressions suggest the system is unnecessarily complex, making the experience difficult.

Crimson Desert Controls Challenge Players

One of the most criticized aspects is that some basic actions are assigned to the same button. For example, combining two different actions like jumping and picking up items into a single button can lead to constant mistakes during gameplay. These seemingly minor details become a serious annoyance when accumulated over a long period of time.

In addition, the combo system in the combat system makes things even more complex. While some players see this system as adding depth, many find it difficult and tiring to get used to initially. The game, already boasting a vast open world, dense content, and diverse mechanics, is further complicated by the challenging controls, raising the bar for some players.

The development team’s statement has made the situation even more controversial. Pearl Abyss claims that the controls will become natural over time, “like riding a bicycle,” meaning players will adapt to the system after a short learning curve.

However, this approach hasn’t been fully accepted by players. Many believe the problem isn’t the learning curve, but rather the design choice itself. Now, all eyes are on potential updates from the team. Whether there will be a simplification of the controls, or whether players will truly “have to get used to it,” only time will tell.
