Demonschool’s Release Postponed Due to Silksong

Demonschool, the indie RPG described as “Persona meets Buffy,” has been delayed once again. Originally scheduled for September 3rd, the game was moved to November 19th to avoid conflicting with the surprise release of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Publisher Ysbryd Games stated that this decision was unavoidable given the challenging market conditions.

Demonschool Postponed to November

In a statement on social media, Ysbryd Games emphasized the criticality of visibility for indie games to survive in a competitive environment. “2025 has presented a brutal market for indie games at every turn. Coinciding with the release of a giant like Silksong would be in our game’s best interest,” they explained.

Developer Necrosoft Games supported this decision, stating that the situation was difficult for them. The studio said, “This wasn’t our choice, but we know our partner is taking the right step. When an ‘indie GTA’ game like Silksong comes out, everyone has to back down.” It was also stated that Ysbryd Games is covering the costs of the postponement.

This seemingly negative delay will actually bring some advantages for Demonschool. Some minigames and alternate endings that would normally be added after release will now be included directly in the launch package. This will give players a more comprehensive experience from day one.

Ysbryd Games emphasized that the new date of November 19, 2025, is definitive. There will be no further postponements after that. While this decision is disappointing for gamers, it is seen as the most logical move to ensure Demonschool has a brighter launch.
