Dino Crisis Coming to PS5 and PS4
Dino Crisis, a PS1 classic that PlayStation fans have been waiting years for, is finally coming back for PS5 and PS4. The Capcom-developed survival-horror game is making its way back to modern hardware after a long hiatus. Dino Crisis was one of PlayStation’s most requested titles and will be available in the PlayStation Plus Classics catalog later in 2024.
Why was Dino Crisis so highly anticipated?
Dino Crisis was released for the PS1 in 1999 and was developed by the Resident Evil team. But instead of zombies, it was prehistoric wild dinosaurs that brought a new twist to the survival-horror genre. While there have been sequels in the series, we haven’t seen a new game since Dino Crisis 3 in 2003. This 21-year gap has led to fans constantly demanding a re-release of the game.
Sony has taken a more active role in porting older PlayStation games to modern consoles. Following PS1 classics such as Ape Escape, The Legend of Dragoon, Syphon Filter, Dino Crisis will be available for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, continuing this trend.
Although no exact release date has yet been given, it is known that this new version of Dino Crisis will come with trophy support and enhanced video features. As with other PS1 re-releases, this game is expected to be updated in terms of graphics and gameplay. With this move, Capcom could revitalize interest in the series, perhaps paving the way for an entirely new Dino Crisis game in the future.
Do you think the arrival of Dino Crisis on modern consoles will open a new door for the future of the series?
