Developed in 1993 by id Software, the first Doom is considered one of the cornerstones of the FPS (first-person shooter) genre. The game centered on the battle against demons that invaded the world after the gates of hell opened at a research facility on Mars. Over the years, the series has expanded with sequels and remakes such as Doom II, Doom 3 and 2016’s Doom (reboot). Doom Eternal, released in 2020, was widely acclaimed for its modern graphics and dynamic gameplay mechanics.
Medieval Theme and New Weapons
Doom: The Dark Ages deviates from the series’ roots and takes players back to medieval times. The trailer shows a kingdom besieged by dark forces and Doom Slayer’s new style.
