Dying Light: The Beast Is Both Terrifying and Funny
Techland’s highly anticipated game Dying Light: The Beast aims to offer players a unique experience by combining horror elements and crazy co-op mechanics. The game, which will be released in the summer of 2025, draws attention with its atmosphere that makes you feel the fear of the night more deeply. Thanks to new environments, different biomes and improved mechanics, players will both experience fearful moments and have fun with their friends in co-op mode.
A Deeper Horror Experience with Dying Light: The Beast
Dying Light: The Beast pushes players’ limits with different areas such as the new swamp biome, as well as classic city courses. In the swamp biome, elements such as dense fog and shallow water limit players’ field of vision and increase the sense of fear. These new areas create tense moments that make players expect a threat at every corner.
Game director Tymon Smektala stated that they were inspired by horror movie scenes. “We are inspired by those scenes where reaching the end of a corridor seems like a simple task, but the tension is at its peak with sound effects and camera angles,” said Smektala, adding that these elements greatly contribute to the atmosphere of the game.
Co-op gameplay is another unique aspect of Dying Light: The Beast. However, having four players in the game at the same time can reduce the sense of fear. “It is almost impossible to maintain the atmosphere of fear if one player is disrespecting the zombie and the other is talking about TV series,” Smektala said, drawing attention to the funny side of this situation.
In addition, the game is also enriched with new weapons and vehicles. Players will be able to develop creative solutions against zombies with weapons such as flamethrowers and UV grenades, which have been added to the series for the first time. In addition, driving a vehicle will now be done from a first-person perspective, making the gameplay even more impressive.
