First Clues for Resident Evil 5 Remake have Emerged

Resident Evil 5 Remake has recently become a hot topic again with the emergence of an official rating record. After Capcom’s modern remake efforts achieved great success in terms of both sales and criticism, attention naturally turned to the next step in the series. A remake of the 2009 Resident Evil 5 has been discussed for a long time, and now there seems to be a concrete sign.

ESRB Detail Revealed for Resident Evil 5 Remake

The appearance of a new rating page for Resident Evil 5 on the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) website has seriously strengthened the possibility of a remake. The page states that the game received an “M for Mature 17+” rating and contains blood, intense violence, and harsh language. However, the noteworthy point is the lack of a clear statement as to whether this is a remake or a different version.

However, considering Capcom’s strategy in recent years, it seems more likely that this will be a modern remake rather than a simple re-release. The success of Resident Evil 4 Remake, released in 2023, in particular, almost guaranteed the company would continue down this path. Reimagining the story of Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar with updated graphics and modern gameplay mechanics could be a powerful move for both nostalgic and new generation players.

The timing is also noteworthy. Resident Evil 4 Remake was announced at a PlayStation State of Play event, and a new State of Play broadcast is planned for this week. Furthermore, a mysterious post by Sheva Alomar’s voice actress, Eva La Dare, hinting at a March release, has further heightened expectations.

Although rumors of a Code Veronica Remake are also circulating, current developments seem to point directly to Resident Evil 5 Remake. While everything remains speculation until an official statement from Capcom, the signs are quite strong this time.
