Forza Horizon 5 was first released back in 2021. Like most Forza games, it did well, racking up critical nods and sales as players tore across Mexico’s vibrant sandbox. Many tagged it fast as one of the top open-world racers, and Playground Games has kept it fresh through steady content drops ever since. A couple of years back, the idea of Forza hitting PlayStation turf would’ve been laughed off, but whispers kicked off in August 2024, hinting Forza Horizon 5 might actually make that leap over to PS5.
That speculation became reality in late January when Playground Games announced that Forza Horizon 5 will be coming to PS5 in spring 2025. Now it’s confirmed for April 29, and those who purchase the $99.99 Premium Edition will receive four days of early access. The standard version is tagged at $59.99, which may raise some eyebrows since the game has been available on Xbox and PC since 2021. PlayStation 5 players can expect top-tier performance at 60 FPS in Performance Mode or choose Quality Mode at 30 FPS with ray-traced car reflections for an even more immersive ride, especially if they’ve got a PS5 Pro. Plus, the game supports cross-platform multiplayer, so PS5 players can race alongside Xbox and PC players.
Hit game Forza Horizon 5’s also getting a hefty update with Horizon Realms, landing April 25, 2025. It’s bringing back 11 fan-favorite Evolving World locations: Stunt Park, Ice Rink, Neon Airstrip, Retrowave Highway, and more, alongside the brand new Stadium Track, made for those high-speed thrill rides. Players can dive in with two modes: Skill Mode, where they’ll rack up Skill Score and climb the leaderboards, or Free Mode, which lets players take it easy and cruise through the environments with friends, with no scoreboard pressure.
The update also packs in over 60 challenges through a fresh Accolade tab, giving players the chance to earn #Forzathon Points, exclusive badges, and four new reward cars: the 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto, 2023 Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato, 2018 Lotus Exige Cup 430, and the 2022 Hennessey Mammoth 6×6. With all this new content, Horizon Realms is shaping up to be one of the most exciting updates yet for Forza Horizon 5.
