Future Remake Games for Resident Evil Might Disappoint Fans
It looks like upcoming Remakes for Resident Evil franchise might disappoint fans.
The Question for Upcoming Resident Evil Remakes
After the success of Resident Evil 4 Remake, fans are excited for upcoming Resident Evil Remake games. With Resident Evil 5 Remake leaked at the end of Separate Ways DLC and other leaked remakes, the anticipation got stronger. Most requested Remake is Resident Evil Code Veronica.
While there were some reports that a Resident Evil 5 remake was in the works, the latest is that Capcom is working on remakes of Code: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero instead. But while Code: Veronica is said to be getting a remake, franchise fans shouldn’t expect it to be on the same scale as the RE4 remake. This is according to Dusk Golem, as reported by WCCFTech, who reportedly said that Capcom doesn’t plan for remakes to be “as ‘ambitious’ as RE4.” Dusk Golem added that Resident Evil 4 is considered “the crown jewel of remakes” at Capcom because of its “scale, scope” and “expectation.” Now, this doesn’t mean that fans can’t expect the Code: Veronica remake to be high-quality, but it’s still a disappointing update on the game and other remakes Capcom has in the pipeline.
With this rumors going around, some can jump to the conclusion that the Code: Veronica remake will be more like the Resident Evil 3 remake, which many considered a disappointment compared to Resident Evil 2. After all, the Resident Evil 3 remake was scaled back compared to the original, and many felt like it was a big step down from what the RE2 remake brought to the table. However, fans should definitely wait to actually see the game for themselves before making any assumptions.
Until official announcement happens, it’s better to wait for to see the game. Until the announcement, everyone can agree to that next Resident Evil gonna be the 9, which will be the next installment.

Given the huge negativity regarding the remake of RE3, it seems to me highly unlikely they’ll repeat that mistake. The message was that the remakes won’t be as ambitious as the remake of RE4. I don’t know how much effort was put into this RE4 remake (I’ve never played it), but I surmise more than was put into the remake of RE2? If so, future remakes might be comparable to the remake of RE2.
