GTA 6 Mobile Rival OneState is Preparing for a Major Update
OneState has managed to attract the attention of players looking for a GTA-like open-world experience on mobile since its early access release in 2022. The game, which reached version 1.0 on Android and iOS in April, is seeing more from ChillBase. Studio founder Matvei Lipatnikov explained the upcoming changes in a new developer video. Clearly, the plan goes far beyond simple visual improvements.
OneState LA 2040 is Almost Completely Redesigned
One of the biggest changes will be on the game’s visual side. Viewing distance, textures, lighting, reflections, HDR, dynamic exposure, and parallax effects on buildings are being reworked. Weather conditions, sky, vegetation, and character models are also being revamped. The development team doesn’t see this as just a graphic patch; they say they’re rethinking how the game looks from scratch.
The really interesting part is the new map. Called LA 2040, this area will be a near-future version of the current Los Angeles map. Instead of a completely outlandish cyberpunk future, it aims for a more familiar atmosphere where technology has advanced but the old and worn parts of the city are still in place. This means a new world for existing players that is different but doesn’t feel foreign.
The gameplay side hasn’t been neglected either. A crafting system, a support program for content creators, a revamped chat system, and customizable profiles are coming. New activities like fishing will be increased, and a new structure called “Superseasons,” which is planned to create different gameplay situations in each season, will be added to the game.
Frankly, OneState’s biggest problem until now has been how well it has been able to establish its own identity beyond being just a mobile GTA-like game. The new update could change that. If ChillBase can really properly implement the systems it describes, OneState could go beyond being just a “GTA alternative on mobile” and become a serious open-world game in its own right.
