GTA 6 PC Version May Not Arrive Until 2027
Grand Theft Auto 6 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated releases in the gaming world. While the release date for console gamers is set for Fall 2025, things may not move that fast for the PC version of GTA 6. According to the predictions of former GTA 4 technical director Obbe Vermeij, PC gamers may have to wait until 2027.
Could GTA 6 PC Version Be Delayed?
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Obbe Vermeij stated that the PC version of GTA 6 might not come out until 2027. He also stated that GTA 6 will continue to sell for over 10 years and will not face any serious competition. Emphasizing that Rockstar doesn’t always release a game until it is 100% ready, Vermeij cited the delays in GTA 4’s release process as an example, stating that a similar situation could happen for GTA 6.
It’s a well-known fact that Rockstar doesn’t rush its games. As with GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, there are examples of PC versions coming later after the release of the console version. It is thought that a similar path will be followed for the GTA 6 PC version. Vermeij’s predictions are not based on precise information, but given Rockstar’s past moves, this possibility seems quite strong.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick also confirms that Rockstar is focused on perfection and not rushing the game. Pointing to the massive success of GTA 5, Zelnick hinted that a similar strategy will be followed for GTA 6. GTA 5 has sold more than 200 million copies since its release, making it the second best-selling game of all time. It is aimed to repeat this success.
