Indian Film Son Of Thanjai Officially Announced
Indian game studio Ayelet Studio has officially announced its new action-adventure game, Son of Thanjai. The game will take players on an epic journey steeped in the cultural richness of the Chola Empire, set in 11th-century South India. Developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, the game’s release date has not yet been announced. Its historical atmosphere, impressive combat, and cultural details are already attracting attention.
Son of Thanjai: An Epic Adventure in 11th-Century South India
Son of Thanjai tells the story of a king grappling with his responsibilities as heir to the throne during the glorious era of the Chola dynasty. Players will be forced to protect their people while also making choices that will shape their own fate. Throne intrigues, the threat of foreign saboteurs, and the uncertainty between friend and foe will keep the story constantly tense.
Gameplay offers a variety of options, including both stealth and direct combat. Players can choose to stalk their enemies one by one, or engage in melee combat with their swords. This freedom of movement will directly impact both the story and the character’s personal journey.
The combat system is inspired by the martial arts of the period. The whip sword, known as the Surulvaal, offers a visual feast, while chain attacks and finishing moves add excitement to the fights. A variety of historical weapons, along with infiltration and interrogation mechanics, further enhance the game’s atmosphere.
Ayelet Studio has meticulously recreated the city of Thanjavur, where the game takes place. Players will encounter cultural elements such as towering temples, ancient inscriptions, Tamil folk dances, and religious ceremonies. Interactions with the population will be shaped by player decisions, making the world even more dynamic.
