Intel Will Reveal Arrow Lake Desktop Chips in October
Intel plans to reveal its highly anticipated Arrow Lake desktop chips at a special event on October 10. Although the company postponed the Intel Innovation event due to recent performance issues, there will be no delay in the Arrow Lake launch.
Arrow Lake Technical Details and Release Schedule
According to earlier leaks, the Arrow Lake series will include a total of 18 SKUs spanning different Thermal Design Power (TDP) ranges. These SKUs will cover the Core Ultra 9, Core Ultra 7 and Core Ultra 5 models. However, the entry-level Core Ultra 3 and Intel Processor (formerly Celeron) models are not included in this number; these models are expected to be unveiled at CES in early 2025.
The launch of Arrow Lake chips will be in line with Intel’s previous launch cycles. Initially, only the K-series Core Ultra 9, Core Ultra 7 and Core Ultra 5 models will be available. These chips will hit the shelves a week or two after the announcement. In the same timeframe, motherboard makers will launch the high-end Z890 and the tentatively named B860 models. These motherboards are designed to be fully compatible with Arrow Lake chips and optimized to meet the expectations of performance enthusiasts.
Intel’s innovations with Arrow Lake aim to overcome some of the performance issues the company experienced with previous generations. These chips aim to deliver a superior experience, especially in gaming and applications that require high performance. In addition, Arrow Lake’s innovations include improved processor architecture, higher efficiency and advanced cooling solutions.
