inZOI Delayed Early Access Date
inZOI, the upcoming life simulation game has delayed its early access release date to March 28, 2025.
Delayed Early Access Date for inZOI
Ever since inZOI’s reveal earlier this year, the game has been heavily compared to The Sims. Developed by South Korean studio Krafton, who many will know as the publisher of the popular Battle Royale title PUBG: Battlegrounds, inZOI uses Unreal Engine 5 to offer insanely realistic graphics and allow users to alter any aspect of their world to create their own unique experiences. Just like The Sims, players can create their own character (known as Zois), build and furnish their own home, find a job, and much more.
InZOI was originally targeting a late 2024 release on PC via Steam, but the game’s director and producer Hyungjun Kim now says the studio wants to provide players with the most “complete experience possible” after the overwhelming number of players who recently participated in the game’s character creator demo earlier this year.
Despite reports that inZOI was still targeting a 2024 release just last month, the game’s director and producer has now confirmed that the title is being pushed back to March 28, 2025. In a new statement on the game’s official Discord channel (via IGN), Kim noted that the huge turnout for inZOI’s Canvas feature, which allowed users to upload their creations for others to download during the character studio demo earlier this year, brought the team “immense happiness.”
Kim goes on to explain that after the studio reviewed fan feedback and analyzed “a wealth of data” from various playtests, it has decided to release inZOI in early access next year. “We apologize that we couldn’t bring you the game sooner, but this decision reflects our commitment to giving inZOI the best possible start,” the game’s director said. While the delay is disappointing, the high expectations from inZOI means fans aren’t surprised that the game’s early access launch won’t be coming this year. Over on Reddit, user MiszGia says they are “fine” with the delay and would rather have an actual release date with a polished early-access launch.
Fans will also likely be pleased to know that inZOI hasn’t been canceled, unlike Paradox Interactive’s now-scrapped Life by You, which was delayed multiple times before ultimately being canceled back in June. The news came as a massive shock to many looking forward to a true Sims competitor, especially given that the title was scheduled to launch in early access on June 4 before receiving an indefinite delay, which would then turn into a full-blown cancelation. Thankfully, fans looking for a new life simulation game still have inZOI to look forward to next year.
