Is Silent Hill Becoming an Annual Series?

Silent Hill series, which was buried in silence for a while, has started to gain a strong place in the gaming world again with the steps taken by Konami in recent years. Although the Ascension project did not meet expectations, the remake version of Silent Hill 2 received positive reviews and expectations are high for the next game Silent Hill f. These consecutive projects may actually be part of a bigger plan.

Konami Wants a New Silent Hill Game Every Year

AestheticGamer, aka Dusk Golem, one of the reliable sources on the horror genre, announced that Konami wants to establish an “almost annual” schedule for the Silent Hill series. In a post he shared on Twitter, he stated that this plan was taken at the beginning of the series’ revival process. The aim is to bring the brand back to its old days with a new game every year.

Silent Hill f, which is expected to be released this year, is followed by Silent Hill: Townfall for 2026. It is claimed that the newly announced Silent Hill remake is planned for 2027. Konami’s ranking of the games in this way shows that it aims to bring the brand back to its popularity during the PlayStation 2 era. However, it is not yet certain whether this plan will be fully implemented.

Dusk Golem also stated that this schedule may loosen over time or will be shaped according to the reaction of the games. Although Konami’s goal is clear, the difficulty of the development processes or the feedback received on the projects may change these plans. However, it is a fact that Silent Hill is now on the verge of turning into a series that can come out with a new game every year.
