La Quimera Released in a Surprise Way
Despite the delayed release date, developer Reburn quietly released the science fiction shooter game La Quimera as early access. The game, developed by the restructured team known as 4A Games Ukraine, met with players on Steam after the announcement made on April 29. The uncertainty in the release process ended with an unexpected early access decision.
La Quimera Released with an Unexpected Decision
La Quimera was initially planned to be released as a full version, but the launch day was postponed due to technical issues. After this delay, Reburn went silent for a short time and did not share any updates about the fate of the game. However, it was announced that the early access model was being switched to with a statement made on April 29. This decision caused surprise among players because it was not expected for the game to be released suddenly without any new date.
The game’s development team stated on Steam that the technical issues experienced took longer than expected to be resolved and that they were late in communicating during this process. However, they stated that they focused on development during this process and tried to make the game more stable before releasing it. Despite this, the fact that the release decision was made so suddenly created question marks in the minds of players.
Reburn CEO Dmytro Lymar stated in the press release that they were used to working in difficult conditions as a Ukraine-based studio and wanted to make the best use of this process. It was also shared that the game will receive regular updates during the early access period in order to reach the quality of its previous projects. This statement offers a glimmer of hope for future developments.
However, the first impressions about the game are not very encouraging. There are criticisms that the visuals are behind the times, the character models are insufficient, and the story is not interesting enough. It is stated that La Quimera is far from meeting these expectations in its current state when compared to the expectations of the players. It is eagerly awaited how the development team will evaluate this early access period.
