Let It Die: Inferno Sparks Artificial Intelligence Debate

An update to Let It Die: Inferno‘s Steam page revealed the game’s use of significant AI content. Developer Supertrick Games’ statement, “in-game sounds, music, and some graphics were generated by AI and edited by the team,” quickly became a trending topic. This confirmation reignited discussions that had remained quiet since the game’s initial announcement.

Let It Die: Inferno Officially Confirms AI Use

Supertrick Games’ statement states that AI is used in background tiles, recording illustrations, InfoCast videos, some sounds, and music. While it emphasizes that the final version of this content was edited by the team, the gaming community continues to share concerns about the rapid spread of AI, particularly in the visual and audio arts. Many argue that this situation could overshadow creative work.

Let It Die: Inferno was first announced at the State of Play event in September. A demo was subsequently released for PC, offering players a brief taste of the roguelite’s core gameplay. The game is described as a multiplayer adventure about navigating Hell’s Gate to find the Reaper’s Eye. While the PvE-focused structure forms the core, the PvP mode is reportedly a separate experience.

On the campaign side, as the world recovers from the Earth Rage, a massive rift—the Hell Gate—emerges, posing humanity with a new threat. Players, as immortal adventurers with the ability to die and resurrect, are tasked with exploring this rift. The rumored Reaper’s Eye’s incredible power is a key motivation for this journey.

The characters Raiders encounter in the game also offer a remarkable variety. A somber receptionist in mourning clothes, a fierce one-armed warrior, a masked veteran, and a rebellious storyteller are among the key figures in the Raider community. Let It Die: Inferno, which will be released on December 4 for PC and PS5, looks set to face a major test after the failure of the series’ previous game, Deathverse.
