Mafia: The Old Country Gameplay Trailer Released
One of Take-Two’s most notable projects this year, Mafia: The Old Country, is finally here with real gameplay footage. The trailer focuses on the main character Enzo’s rise within the mafia, and the release date, which was on the agenda with the Steam leak, has also been officially confirmed. The game will be released on August 8, 2025.

The new trailer draws attention with its atmosphere that takes players to Italy in the early 1900s. The gameplay scenes shown along with Enzo’s story have a structure reminiscent of Hangar 13’s previous Mafia games. The importance given to close combat and stealth elements in particular stands out as an important innovation that distinguishes it from the previous games in the series. Enzo’s silently neutralizing his enemies with a knife and the intensive use of cinematic transitions in close-quarters combat are harbingers of this change.
In addition to classic gunfights, the trailer also features different scenes such as the character exploring caves, traveling by horse, and driving in rural areas. These elements suggest that the game may not have a completely linear structure. It seems that at least in some sections, players will be offered the opportunity to explore the environment.
The stealth mechanics are particularly reminiscent of Mafia 3, but this time we are faced with a much more refined and diverse tactical system. Players will be able to progress not only with firepower, but also by evaluating environmental opportunities. The frequent use of knives in the trailer brings a fresh breath to the series’ usual weapon-heavy structure.
This trailer has created great expectations for the production, which has been silent for a long time, in terms of both visual quality and gameplay. Although it is not talked about as much as Rockstar’s GTA 6, Mafia: The Old Country has already managed to take its place among the prominent games of the summer of 2025.
