Morena Baccarin Breaks Her Silence After Deadpool
Morena Baccarin, who joined the Marvel Universe in 2016’s Deadpool film, quickly gained the love of fans as Vanessa Carlyle. However, her unexpected death in the second film saddened both the actress and audiences. After making a brief return in Deadpool & Wolverine, Baccarin has finally broken her silence and offered hopeful insights into the character’s future.
Morena Baccarin Wants to Reprise Her Role as Vanessa Carlyle
Speaking to Variety, Morena Baccarin described her experience working on the Deadpool series, saying, “I could never have imagined that this journey we started 10 years ago would grow this much.” The actress noted that since filming the first film, Deadpool has gained both a cult following and an unexpectedly large fan base. “We had so much fun filming; it was an incredible world,” she said, praising the series’ energy.
Baccarin, who appeared in a brief scene in Deadpool & Wolverine, stated that this cameo could open up a new direction for Vanessa and Wade Wilson’s relationship. “I’d love to be more involved in the next film,” she said, adding that the storyline was limited this time due to the series’ tone being a “bro comedy.” “But why not? Vanessa still has a story to tell,” she said, leaving the door open for a return.
Baccarin, who has also embarked on a busy period outside of the Marvel Universe, will play The Sorceress, guardian of Castle Grayskull, in Amazon’s adaptation of Masters of the Universe. “I used to watch He-Man with my brother as a kid. So when I saw the costume and makeup on set, I was transported back to my childhood,” she said, sharing that the role holds a nostalgic meaning for her.
Baccarin also touched on the performance of new He-Man actor Nicolas Galitzine. “I couldn’t believe it when I saw her on set. She trained for months, she was like He-Man,” he praised his co-star. Morena Baccarin is ready for both her return to the Deadpool universe and her new fantasy projects. Fans only want to see her as Vanessa Carlyle again.
