New Announcement Regarding Jade in Assassin’s Creed

Although Assassin’s Creed Jade has been quiet for a long time, a new statement from Ubisoft shows that the project is still actively being developed. In a blog post about the future of the Assassin’s Creed brand, Ubisoft reconfirmed Jade as one of the projects in development. This reveals that the game has not been shelved, but is simply undergoing a longer development process than expected.

Assassin’s Creed Jade Progresses in Development

Assassin’s Creed Jade is positioned as a mobile game that takes the series to ancient China for the first time. This game, where players can create their own characters, aims to adapt the classic Assassin’s Creed gameplay to the mobile platform. How the core elements of the series, such as open-world exploration, stealth mechanics, and the parkour system, will be transferred to the mobile experience has been a subject of much speculation.

New Announcement Regarding Jade in Assassin's Creed

The project has actually been in the works for a few years. A limited beta was held in 2022, giving some players the opportunity to experience the game in its early stages. Then, gameplay footage leaked online in 2023 showed that Jade was quite ambitious for mobile platforms. However, the development process took longer than expected, leading to several delays in the game’s release schedule.

Another noteworthy point in Ubisoft’s blog post concerns plans for the future of the series. The company states that it wants to bring the co-op experience back to the forefront in Assassin’s Creed games. While some previously attempted ideas in this area have been abandoned, it is stated that the experience gained will be used in new projects.

At this point, Jade is seen as an important part of the strategy to expand the series to different platforms. Ubisoft also confirmed that the multiplayer-focused Assassin’s Creed Invictus project is also in development. It seems that the Assassin’s Creed universe will continue to grow not only with the main games but also with projects spanning different genres and platforms.
