Free Co-Op Game from Steam
For the most part, getting day one games “for free” means signing up for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PlayStation Plus Extra. New day one games are available to Game Pass Ultimate subscribers on a monthly basis, while PS Plus Extra subscribers get them more sporadically. PC gamers that are signed up for PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate can get “free” games that way, but since there is a subscription cost tied to them, they’re not truly free. That’s what makes free Steam games so exciting. Typically, they don’t require any effort beyond navigating to the game’s Steam page and claiming it for one’s digital library.
So is the case with the latest Steam free game, Guntouchables, a brand-new, day one release from Game Swing and Ghost Ship Publishing. Steam users that want to claim Guntouchables for free will have to act fast, as the game will only be free until August 8 at 3:00am CST, at which point it will revert to its normal asking price of $4.99.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Guntouchables is an online co-op roguelite game for up to 4 players. Players take on the role of doomsday preppers that have to explore a world infested with deadly mutants. Enemies get stronger each round, with players having to choose mutations that make them more challenging while simultaneously giving themselves some benefits. Players can also upgrade their characters by collecting cash and perks, giving themselves a better chance at survival. In addition, guns can be modded, allowing players to really experiment with their builds and figure out what works best for them.
