New God of War Game Almost Announced
The news that PlayStation fans have been eagerly waiting for has arrived. God of War series developer Santa Monica Studio is allegedly working on a new spin-off game focusing on Kratos’ past in Greek mythology. This information was leaked by Jeff Grubb, known as a reliable source in the industry. According to Grubb, this game will not be a remastered collection, but a completely new side story project.
God of War Returns to Greek Mythology
According to Jeff Grubb’s statements, the new God of War game will return to the roots of the series and revisit Greek mythology. This side story will offer a different atmosphere than the Norse mythology explored in 2018’s God of War and Ragnarök games. Grubb stated that this project is an “interlude” and will offer an independent story like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
The game aims to provide a nostalgic experience for fans of the series by focusing on Kratos’ past. However, this information also reveals that the previously rumors of a remastered collection are not true. Grubb clarified this issue by saying, “This is not a remastered collection. It is a completely new side story.”
Although no official statement has been made by Santa Monica Studio or PlayStation, it is thought that the game’s announcement may be made at a special event for the series’ anniversary. Although there is no clear information about the release date, it is stated that the project is in the development process.
The God of War series has achieved great success, especially with the 2018 reboot and God of War: Ragnarök. It is estimated that the new spin-off game will appeal to both old fans and new players. It is eagerly awaited when Santa Monica Studio will share details about this project.
