Hideo Kojima, one of most successful and talented game developers is getting a documentary. He made a lot of successful franchises such as Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding. After the events in the Konami, he left Konami and build his own studio.
Hideo Kojima announced on Twitter that Glen Milner’s Connecting Worlds documentary has found a home at Disney+ and will release early next year, following on from its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York in June 2023.
According to a blurb on Kojima Productions website, the documentary film explores “the power and potential of video games as an art form through the work of an influential talent” as Hideo Kojima sets about launching his own independent studio after parting ways with Konami in 2015 following a decades-long career there.
The documentary features contributions from visionary artists such as George Miller, Guillermo del Toro, Nicolas Winding Refn, Grimes, Woodkid, Churches, Mamoru Oshii, Shinji Mikami, Shinya Tsukamoto, and Norman Reedus, who, in the trailer for the film, likened working with Kojima to “stepping into Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory”.
