New KOTOR Remake Images Leaked

KOTOR Remake has remained in the news since its announcement due to its challenging development process. Now, some images found in the online portfolio of a former Aspyr employee have revealed weapon designs believed to be from the game. This leak has sparked new discussions about the long-silenced project.

KOTOR Remake Development in the Spotlight Again

Announced in 2021, KOTOR Remake was initially developed by Aspyr. However, following high-level layoffs at the studio, the project was postponed indefinitely until 2022. Shortly thereafter, the game was transferred to Saber Interactive. Since then, no definitive updates have been released from the studio, and rumors about the project have only grown.

The leaked images consist mostly of weapon models and various equipment. While these images, dating from the game’s early development stages, don’t offer a complete picture, they do offer a glimpse into the remake’s visual style. The lighting effects and detailed modeling, in particular, suggest a modern graphics infrastructure is being targeted.

Saber Interactive’s lack of official wording about the game’s future is fueling fan impatience. The company’s chief creative officer previously stated that the project was “still on track,” but following the leaks, anticipation and anxiety have grown. Fans are eager for a clearer explanation of the game’s true status following these small hints.

KOTOR, one of the most beloved games in the Star Wars universe, has enjoyed a large fan base for years. Therefore, the remake is arguably an important project for both veterans and new generations of Star Wars fans. While the leaked images don’t serve as an official update, they do serve as proof that KOTOR Remake is still a project worth discussing.
