New Details About GTA6 Gameplay

With so much anticipation and hype surrounding GTA6, there have been a myriad of different theories, rumors, and general speculation. In terms of leaks, no major gameplay information has been revealed since the infamous 2022 breach that saw over 90 images and videos of the game leaked online. The footage that emerged appeared to be a very early version of the highly anticipated titles, as GTA6’s most recent trailer shows some monumental improvements in terms of graphics. There’s still plenty for Rockstar to reveal, but a new leak may have just revealed some vital pieces of information regarding the title.

As discovered by Reddit user curiousnaija, Twitter user GameRoll, who correctly leaked the full names of Grand Theft Auto 6’s two main protagonists, has posted some new information surrounding the title over on Discord. According to the leaker, GTA6 will feature a limited weapon wheel similar to that of Red Dead Redemption 2. GameRoll says any extra weapons will be stored in the vehicle’s trunk. The leaker then goes on to claim that players will be able to switch between Jason and Lucia, but will also be able to switch to both and have the two characters in free roam together.

When asked about a potential “robbery system,” GameRoll said there are “no burglaries, but there’s a lot of stores…like a lot.” The leaker later went on to state that there are 700+ stores and that malls are enterable and functional. Thankfully, GameRoll refused to spoil any story elements, but did claim GTA6’s story will consist of 5 chapters for players to complete. As for gameplay elements, the leaker has revealed that the ability to go prone, which was seen in the 2022 leaks, has been cut from the game.

GameRoll also claims that there will be “elevators in certain skyscrapers” and male strippers. Of course, it is highly recommended to take all of these details with a huge grain of salt. The leaker followed up on these claims with a Reddit comment, stating that they do not come directly from Rockstar. “I know a guy who knows a guy,” he said. Unfortunately, it’s likely going to be quite some time until fans find out if this information is correct, as Rockstar Games recently delayed GTA6 to next year. The highly anticipated title was supposed to launch in Fall 2025, but was pushed back to May 26, 2026, to allow the studio more time to perfect the game.
