New Studio and New RPG from the Disco Elysium Team

A group of developers tasked with working on the canceled sequel to Disco Elysium are preparing to launch their own independent game studio and embark on a new project. The new team, established under the name Longdue Games, is shaping their first game with a story “set in the imagination of the creative leaders of the canceled sequel to Disco Elysium.” The name of the game has not yet been announced, but statements from the developers indicate that they will once again invite players into a world filled with deep narrative, complex character psychology, and impressive choice mechanics.

Keeping the Spirit of Disco Elysium Alive with Longdue Games

The foundations of Longdue Games were laid by about a dozen developers, including those from Disco Elysium’s development team and those who were planned to take part in its canceled sequel. The studio officially announced its first project on the fifth anniversary of Disco Elysium’s release, demonstrating its commitment to the game. Although Robert Kurvitz, Aleksander Rostov, and original studio ZA/UM are not involved in the project, Longdue Games states that this new RPG will continue the legacy of Disco Elysium with its narrative-first structure.

This RPG, which has not yet been named, is described as a “psychogeogeographic” experience. According to the developers, the game is about the interaction between the player’s mind and the world around them. Every choice made changes not only the character’s inner world, but also their surroundings. This unique mechanic offered by the game allows the story to take shape differently for each player and aims to add a brand new dimension to the classic CRPG genre.

The theme of the game is based on an atmosphere where the boundaries between the visible and the invisible, the conscious and the subconscious are constantly changing. This connection established between the character’s mental conflicts and environmental events invites players to a journey that will challenge them both intellectually and emotionally. The Longdue team believes that this experience will be impressive not only for Disco Elysium fans, but also for narrative-based RPG lovers.

Although details about the game are limited at the moment, the development team announced that they will share more information on the official Longdue Games website in the future. This project continues the narrative legacy of Disco Elysium while also opening the door to a new era in isometric RPG design. This production, which is expected to make a difference in the gaming world with its narrative depth and philosophical infrastructure, is an exciting development especially for those interested in narrative-focused games.
