Nobody Plays FBC: Firebreak
FBC: Firebreak was released earlier this month as Remedy Entertainment’s new multiplayer survival game. However, according to Steam data, the game failed to meet expectations and experienced a significant decrease in player numbers. Despite being released on major platforms such as PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass, it is played by very few players.
Steam Data Reveals FBC: Firebreak’s Status
According to Steam data, FBC: Firebreak’s 24-hour player peak reached only 245 people. This number falls behind even older games such as Call of Duty 2, Back 4 Blood, and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. It also appears that the game is ranked 1,854th on Steam’s charts. This means that it is behind Control, which was released in 2019.
The game’s limited content is also one of the factors that explains the low interest. According to reviews, FBC: Firebreak has a structure that offers all the content in a few hours. It is understood that the game, which was released with a price tag of $ 40, did not satisfy the players with this below-expectation content. Moreover, users also voiced matchmaking problems with complaints such as “we can’t find matches in all modes”.
The game’s highest player count is also quite low compared to Remedy’s other projects. For example, while Control Ultimate Edition peaked with 9,193 players, FBC: Firebreak’s all-time record is only 1,992 people. This paints a picture far from the studio’s past successes.
Despite all this, the game has cross-platform support. In other words, Steam, Xbox and PlayStation players can join the same matches. However, the low player count also makes it difficult to use this feature effectively. It seems that how things will shape up will become clear with future updates.
