NVIDIA DLSS 5 Did Not Receive the Expected Interest
NVIDIA announced its next-generation display technology, DLSS 5, with high expectations, but initial reactions were not what the company hoped for. Gamers and content creators are raising serious questions, particularly regarding the impact of AI on image quality.
DLSS 5 at the Center of Reactions
The reactions to the promotional video reveal just how significant the situation is. While the video, which has millions of views, has a very low like rate, the number of negative comments has rapidly increased. This has led to DLSS, a technology generally viewed positively in the past, receiving such intense criticism for the first time.
At the heart of the criticism is the “neural rendering” approach. With DLSS 5, a larger portion of game visuals are generated by artificial intelligence. While this provides a performance boost, some players feel that the resulting visuals don’t feel natural and present an “artificial” appearance. Inconsistencies in detail are frequently cited.
Lag and the sense of control are also among the topics discussed. It’s known that frame generation technology, by its nature, can sometimes create input lag. Players accustomed to competitive gaming argue that such systems can negatively impact the gaming experience.
NVIDIA, however, hasn’t completely dismissed these criticisms. The company emphasizes that developers will have full control over the technology and that DLSS 5 will be optional. In other words, how this system is implemented will largely depend on the game studios.
