NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 SE High-End Graphics Card is Coming
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 SE may be preparing to fill a significant gap in the company’s high-end graphics card family. According to new claims, NVIDIA is considering offering a trimmed-down version of the RTX 5090, called SE, to gamers instead of releasing the RTX 5080 Ti. The new graphics card aims to be significantly more powerful than the RTX 5080, while being more accessible than the standard RTX 5090.
What will the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 SE offer?
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 SE is rumored to use a partially disabled GB202 graphics processor. It is stated that the card will have 14,080 CUDA cores. This represents approximately 31% higher processing capacity compared to the RTX 5080, which has 10,752 CUDA cores. However, this will fall far short of the 21,760 CUDA cores found in a fully-fledged RTX 5090.
The new model is rumored to offer 32 GB of GDDR7 memory and a 384-bit memory bus. Memory bandwidth is expected to be around 1.34 TB/s, which is 25% lower than the RTX 5090’s 1.79 TB/s capacity. Despite this, it could still offer quite powerful hardware for high-resolution gaming, ray tracing, and productive AI applications.
In terms of power consumption, the card is claimed to reach 500W. This is significantly higher than the RTX 5080’s 360W consumption and slightly lower than the RTX 5090’s 575W. It’s suggested that NVIDIA may recommend at least a 1,000W power supply to system builders, and powerful cooling solutions are also considered important.
A recommended retail price of $1,500 is being discussed for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 SE. Based on the current exchange rate, the price in Turkey could be much higher due to taxes and distribution costs. NVIDIA is also rumored to be working on an RTX 5080 SUPER with 24GB of memory. However, the RTX 5090 SE has not yet been officially announced, and its specifications may change before release.
