Nvidia’s next generation graphic card series, RTX 50 will push graphic performance, along with RTX 50 laptops. This development follows Nvidia’s recent milestone surpassing Apple in market value due to the booming demand for its advanced AI technology. Nvidia’s focus on AI has significantly boosted its market cap, making it the second largest public company in the U.S. and highlighting its role in the ongoing AI revolution.

According to leakers, Nvidia’s upcoming GeForce RTX 50 laptops series is set to launch in 2025, featuring variants with 16GB, 12GB, and 8GB of GDDR7 memory. Leaked Clevo materials reveal that the new generation, codenamed GN22, will include up to six variants: X11, X9, X7, X6, X4, and X2, ranging from the most powerful to the least. Two boards, each supporting three variants, are being designed, indicating that GB203 and GB205 GPUs, as well as GB206 and GB207 GPUs, will be used independently but may not be pin compatible. Despite the launch of the RTX 50 series, Nvidia will continue selling its RTX 4050, RTX 3050, and RTX 2050 models in 2025, with the RTX 2050 expected to be replaced by the RTX 3050 4GB.

Notably, Nvidia is discontinuing the 6GB variant of its RTX 50 Laptop GPU series, offering three SKUs with 8GB, two with 16GB, and one with 12GB instead, all utilizing GDDR7 memory. Recent leaks also suggest that the RTX 5090, the flagship of the series, will feature a more compact design, using only two PCIe slots and a dual fan cooling system. Nvidia will release the RTX 5080 ahead of the flagship RTX 5090, according to an industry insider. The Blackwell microarchitecture, anticipated to debut fully in 2025, will power these GPUs.

Testing for the RTX 50 series cooling modules is already underway, with wattages ranging from 250W to 600W. This extensive testing phase indicates Nvidia’s commitment to ensuring optimal performance and reliability for their next-gen GPUs. The company’s roadmap suggests the production of the GN22 Board 1 will start in January 2025, followed by GN22 Board 2 in March 2025.

Nvidia‘s continued innovation and strategic focus on AI have significant implications for the tech industry. The shift towards more efficient and AI capable GPUs aligns with the growing demand for AI technology in various sectors. This positions Nvidia as a key player in both gaming and professional markets.
