Only 2 People Passed New Difficulty in Onimusha 2 Remake

Onimusha 2 Remake, the remake of Capcom’s classic action-adventure series, returns with both visual improvements and difficulty settings. However, one of the most striking details in this new version is the extreme difficulty mode called Hell. According to information provided by the game’s director Motohide Eshiro, this mode is so challenging that only one or two people from the Capcom team were able to complete the game at this level.

Onimusha 2 Remake’s Hell Mode Is Really Hellish

The original Onimusha 2, which was released on PlayStation 2 in 2002, is now being ported to next-gen platforms. The Remake version, which will be released on May 23 for PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC, includes some previously unseen features and improvements. The most talked about of these is undoubtedly the Hell mode. According to Eshiro, this difficulty level only appeals to confident players and offers a gameplay where even a single hit is enough to kill the character.

While there is a save option while playing Hell mode, players need to proceed carefully and strategically. The main purpose of this mode is to provide a real challenge to players with high skill levels. Even the development team had difficulty achieving success in this mode, and it was announced that only two people could complete it during the game’s testing period. The studio’s rule is clear: If at least one person from the team can pass, this difficulty level is considered sufficient to be included in the game.

Beyond the difficulty, Onimusha 2 Remake is equipped with many life-enhancing features. Players will now be able to change weapons without pausing the game, and decide when Jubei will switch to his Onimusha form. In addition, an automatic save system, skippable cutscenes, different screen ratio options, and an expanded in-game gallery are also included in the remaster version.

In addition to the challenging Hell mode, there is also an Easy mode that offers a softer experience for players who want to focus on the story. This shows that they aim to offer a balanced structure that appeals to every type of player. The “Orchestra Album Selection Pack”, which is available exclusively to those who pre-order the game, includes orchestral music pieces and various in-game items. Capcom is here with a comprehensive remake that appeals to both nostalgia and new generation expectations.
