Path of Exile 2 Early Access Content Details

Path of Exile 2 will run in parallel with its predecessor and will include its own season leagues. The game handles many systems differently compared to its predecessor. Path of Exile 2’s combat mechanics are inspired by Elden Ring, with features such as active block and dodge rolls. There’s also a clever skill system that encourages combining different actions rather than spamming a single ability.

During early access, Path of Exile 2 will make 6 of the 12 classes playable, each with two of the three planned Ascensions. Players will be able to play the first half of the campaign, which will be available on two difficulty levels, and dive into an enhanced version of the endgame of the original Path of Exile.

New classes such as Warrior, Monk, Mercenary and Wizard are coming to the game, while the Witch and Ranger are also returning. However, some of Path of Exile’s iconic classes, including the shape-shifting Druid and Hunter, will wait for later updates.

New Systems and Mechanics

Path of Exile 2 features a system where each class starts at a predetermined point in a shared passive skill tree at the beginning. “Fear not, there’s a lot of choice, but at its core it’s pretty simple,” says game director Jonathan Rogers, noting that each class will have upgrades tailored to their specialty.

Players will earn Upgrade points by choosing one of three different challenges at certain points. Initially, two trials will be available, Sekhema’s Trial and the Trial Master’s Challenge.

Path of Exile 2’s full campaign will take you up to around level 65, while only three of the six chapters will be playable in early access. The developers have decided that a strong endgame is more important for ARPG players.
