PlayStation Fans Worried About STALKER 2
STALKER 2 was released for Xbox and PC platforms in 2024 and was a huge success. However, the game’s developer GSC Game World announced that they have no plans to create a port for PS5. This has made PlayStation users even more worried about Xbox exclusives. GSC stated that it will focus all its resources on supporting the game on existing platforms, which means that the chances of the game being ported to PS5 are quite low.
Why Isn’t STALKER 2 Coming to PS5?
GSC Game World stated in a statement that STALKER 2 is only focused on Xbox and PC platforms and that there are no plans to develop a port for PS5. The company stated that the game requires more improvements and support on existing platforms. In addition, the game being exclusive to Xbox is due to an agreement GSC made with Microsoft. However, GSC emphasizes that this is entirely their decision and that they are not a studio acquired by Xbox.
Although the game’s absence on PS5 was disappointing for PlayStation users, GSC Game World states that this decision was made to provide a better experience for the existing player base. The company believes that focusing on the Xbox and PC versions is important to increase the quality of the game and ensure long-term support.
By remaining exclusive to Xbox, STALKER 2 gives Xbox a greater advantage over PlayStation. This raises concerns among PlayStation users that Xbox-exclusive games will increase in the future. In particular, other games that will be released exclusively on Xbox, such as Avowed, South of Midnight, and Fable, could further intensify this competition.
This situation is considered a strategic step for Xbox to expand its game library and gain a stronger position against PlayStation. STALKER 2’s absence on PS5 stands out as part of Xbox’s exclusive game policy and provides important clues about the future of the console wars.
