Pom Klementieff Takes Lead Role in DCU’s New Series
Pom Klementieff, who worked with James Gunn on the Guardians of the Galaxy projects in the Marvel universe, is now stepping into the DC universe. The actress, who previously had a short behind-the-scenes role in the movie The Suicide Squad, is now preparing to appear before the audience as the lead in the new DCU series. Although the project has not yet been made official, details have begun to become clear.
Pom Klementieff Will Appear in the DC Universe as the Huntress Character
According to new information, Pom Klementieff will bring to life the Huntress character, one of the beloved heroes of the DC Comics universe. The character, known as Helena Bertinelli, was first introduced in 1989 and was last played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the 2020 movie Birds of Prey. Now, it is being said that the DCU is making a new start for this character.
Helena Bertinelli, who will be played by Pom Klementieff, is said to be a half-Korean and half-Italian character. This detail becomes even more remarkable with the participation of South Korean director Jung Byung-gil, who is mentioned as the screenwriter and director of the series, in the project. Jung had gained a solid place for himself in the action world, especially with the movie The Villainess.
The fact that the series has not been officially announced also explains why Klementieff’s role has not been announced yet. However, the fact that the actress was previously seen on the set of Peacemaker Season 2 strengthens the possibility that this character will appear before the audience for the first time there. Although all the details have not yet been finalized, preparations for the project are progressing rapidly.
Pom Klementieff most recently attracted attention with her role as the French assassin Paris in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. It is also known that she will undertake the voice of a Superman robot in the upcoming Superman movie. With this project, the actress’ role in the DC universe may deepen even more.
