PS5 Pro Test Results Reveal the Performance Difference

Youtuber Moore’s Law Is Dead (MLID) hasn’t been idle and has leaked the PS5 Pro’s test results. According to the leaked information, games on the standard PS5 generally run at “1080p-1600p dynamic resolution and medium-high settings”. Frame rates fluctuate between 45-60 FPS, making it difficult to deliver consistent performance. The PS5 Pro, on the other hand, sounds like a performance monster. According to leaked information, the PS5 Pro runs at “1600p-2160p dynamic resolution at maximum settings” and is “locked to 60 FPS”. Moreover, it offers this performance without frame drops, meaning the gaming experience is much smoother.

Developers are working on 4K and 120Hz modes for the PS5 Pro, and 8K resolution support has been added to the console. While these modes have yet to be tested, the PS5 Pro’s extra 1.2GB of RAM is said to significantly boost performance. “PS5 Pro delivers a 28% bandwidth boost and crisper visuals with an update to the new PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) technology.”

The news that the PS5 Pro will come with “8K and 120Hz” support in particular suggests that the console will be pushed to its limits. With extra RAM and optimized memory management, it’s already clear that the PS5 Pro will offer a significant performance boost over the standard PS5.

It looks like the PS5 Pro is raising the bar in terms of performance, and these early leaked test results look like they’ll meet gamers’ expectations. Of course, as always, it’s worth remembering that these are leaks and should always be approached with caution.
