Remedy Entertainment Released News Regarding Control 2
Remedy Entertainment shared an update for their games, including Control 2 and more.
Control 2 News and More Information
As Remedy continues to intertwine all of its franchises into one connected universe, Control has proven to be a hugely popular title for the Finnish developer. As such, the studio has dedicated a lot of resources into expanding the IP through a direct sequel, Control 2, as well as a brand new 3 person co-op shooter called FBC Firebreak. The spinoff puts players into the shoes of agents of the Federal Bureau of Control as they attempt to take out Hiss infected enemies from a first person perspective.
Following its Capital Markets day event, Remedy had a few updates for fans. Without providing too many details, Remedy is planning to release a free update for Control in “early 2025” that will unlock previously released content. Without any additional details, fans continue to speculate about what that could mean, though it could finally be bringing the Control preorder and Deluxe Edition content to the core game for everyone. Not only that, Control Ultimate Edition is finally launching on the Mac platform on February 12, 2025.
For fans waiting for any news on Control 2, Remedy did have a small update to share as well. As part of the Tweet, Remedy confirmed that Control 2 will be an action RPG style game, which may be slightly surprising to fans of the first game, which didn’t have much in the way of RPG elements, instead leaning heavily into action. Unfortunately, Remedy didn’t expand upon this news, so for now, fans will need to continue waiting until the developer is ready to share more in Control 2.
Remedy also provided a sales update for Alan Wake 2, a game which has seen plenty of praise from critics and fans since its release last year, though has concerningly failed to generate a profit. However, with a recent anniversary update and The Lake House expansion release, Alan Wake 2 has finally passed 1.8 million units sold, which should help Remedy get back to recouping its entire development and marketing budget.
